I will always regret wearing flip-flops? But there are some places where they’re almost required, like the areas around swimming pools and hot tubs, and inside gym showers.
Then again, this is California where I think we wear flip-flops far too often. I’m still a Midwesterner in that I like my feet covered most of the time.
There are times they must be worn for sanitary purposes but that doesn’t make it less regrettable. Out of everything I’ve ever written this seems the truest and the wisest. In a book of aphorisms on how to live this would be my contribution.
