I stopped at a gallery today to look at some sculptures done by an acquaintance, and the gallery owner offered to sell one to me at “a deep discount” because it had been cracked while being transported to the show. I had to bite my tongue to keep from saying, “Will you give it to me for wholesale?”
The guy that represents me would give it to you at almost wholesale even without a crack. His is the only gallery I’ve shown with that doesn’t worry about his cut.
